Name: Atkinson, John

John Atkinson was an outside-left who made just four appearances for Queen’s Park in season 1904/05, before moving to Hamilton Academicals, making 97 league appearances, scoring 27 goals. He also made one appearance for Celtic on 22 April 1909, on loan from Hamilton, and also had a brief spell at Partick Thistle. He became a Doctor in County Durham until the outbreak of the first world war. Sadly he died aged just 29, drowning in an accident off the west coast of Africa.
