QUEEN'S PARK IN THE GLASGOW EXHIBITION TROPHY
Following a similar competition when the first International Trades Fair was held in Glasgow in 1888 (which Queen's did not take part in), eight First Division clubs wee invited to compete for the Glasgow Exhibition Trophy in 1901 to coincide with the 1901 Fair.
Celtic, Hearts, Hibs, Morton, Rangers, St Mirren and Third Lanark all took part alongside Queen's, with most games played in Kelvingrove, at the back of the art galleries. Queen's stay in the competition was of the briefest nature, losing to Hearts in the first round, Rangers going on to beat Celtic in the final.
Details of our match against Hearts can be found here.
