first record of the Queen's Park Second Eleven playing is in 1871,
when they beat Southern Football Club by two goals to nil. The team
was originally known as the second eleven, but on 7th July 1885 it was
agreed to adopt the name of the "Strollers" for the team, a
name which has been retained to this day
leagues did not come into place until 1881, and it seems a bit strange
that the club were happy to enter into a league for their second
eleven but held back from entering the SFL in 1890.
While the team has provided a route from the youth system to the first
team for many players, it has also seen some famous names, such as
Danny McGrain and Archie McPherson, play for them only not to reach
the first team for a multitude of reasons.

three main competitions that the Strollers have entered have been the
Reserve League (under various competition names), the Reserve League
Cup and the Second Eleven Cup (discontinued after 1987/88).
many years the Reserve fixture list mirrored that of the first elevens
and games were played on a Saturday, but since the 1970’s Reserve
games have mainly been played on midweek dates, with Queen’s
currently playing the majority of their Reserve fixtures on a Monday
night, with home games being staged at Lesser Hampden.
number of games has reduced in recent years as many clubs have cut
back on the size of their squads and withdrawn from Reserve football,
and for several seasons no League competition has been run, although
season 2012/13 has seen an upsurge in the number of teams taking part
and for the first time in over a decade both a League and Cup
competition has been run.
Details of matches are listed below, with some seasons from the 1980's and 2005/06 onwards currently listed.
